Overview

This mod includes features meant to mildly enhance player immersion through mod intercompatibility, through the lens of the humble Alex's Mobs fly. Most features are configurable, and all are set to true by default.

Config

Spawning (Overworld-exclusive)

  • Flies rarely spawn from dirty chimpanzees. The chance per tick is configurable. Requires Neapolitan.
  • Flies also rarely spawn around organic compost. This chance increases in humid biomes (#forge:is_wet_overworld). Requires Farmer's Delight.

Bottling

  • Flies can be bottled when Buzzier Bees is installed. Dispenser functionality is also included.

Eating Goal

  • Flies now occasionally "eat" from food blocks. They may also ambiently hang around food for a bit.
    • Flies have a small chance to enter love mode if they eat from a block for long enough.
    • Flies disperse from a food block if a player comes too close.

Block Tags

  • fly_high:fly_food
    • Adds blocks upon which flies would love to get their grubby little appendages. This includes cakes, jam blocks, rotten flesh blocks, meat blocks, etc.
    • It also includes the tag farmersdelight:mineable/knives in order to automatically be compatible with mods that add their own feasts.
  • fly_high:fly_food_blacklist
    • Serves as a means of countering blocks that are lumped into fly_food by accident, most likely because they were included in farmersdelight:mineable/knives. Includes carpets, cobwebs, etc. Add a block to this tag if you don't want flies to munch away.
  • fly_high:fly_paper
    • Includes blocks that attract flies but wouldn't actually serve as food. Only cobwebs by default. It just makes a lot of sense to see them trapped in there, y'know?

Requires Citadel and Alex's Mobs. Includes many other optional dependencies.

This mod is dedicated to all of the insects that have unceremoniously declared ownership of my current bedroom through the very tall, very screen-less, and very open window.

I'd also like to thank the Naturalist codebase for being MIT-licensed, so I could use ButterflyPollinateGoal as a base for FlyMunchGoal. Open-source work rocks

Feel free to direct any tweaks/suggestions towards the issue tracker. Thank you!
