📖Introduction📖

This mod is part of a line called 'Simply', a collection of simple mods that affect the game in simple but considerable ways.

Over the years, Minecraft has started to become easier and easier as players have gained a lot of skill and experience with it. When swimming, veterans know to bring a door or magma block to avoid drowning. Players have learned to know the exact time they have to swim underwater before they would start taking damage or lose their life. Multiple mods now allow players to maneuver underwater much faster than intended in Vanilla. Drowning is no longer effective and one can easily avoid the watery fate...

Well this mod aims to change that! Now when you take drowning damage, water will get into your lungs and affect you even beyond the water! You'll take a lot less damage then you would underwater, but it can still be deadly! To rid the water from your lungs, you must spam the space key to get it all out. No matter if you're just playing vanilla or have a ton of mods, Immersive Drowning can still greatly enhance the experience and realism of drowning!

A full list of technical additions can be viewed below:

Spoiler
  • Applies a hidden drown effect when player takes 'drown' damage and is at 0 oxygen. Player will be notified above their hotbar that they have water in their lungs.

  • Deals 0.2 damage about every half second while the effect is active.

  • Has a chance to remove the effect upon space bar click and release.
