Thingamajigs 1.7.4! The Painting Update!

Asphalt and Paintbrushes have been overhauled!

Additions and Improvements:

  • Painted Asphalt Slabs (made by right clicking a slab with the supported type of colored brush pattern, and slabs support directional placement, and will NOT be craftable! Use the paint brush to obtain these blocks!)

  • Scrape Tool (scrapes off paint from roads, works on slabs and full blocks; right click to do the action)

  • Paint Brushes now can paint any type of asphalt any direction, whatever the block's state is (it will turn non-painted asphalt into painted asphalt, when possible, then will place the paint on top of the block if it is unpaintable or already is painted)(paint brushes will also make the 'villager no' sound at the player if they click on an invalid surface). Remember that shift => change type and right click => place paint pattern on block/replace asphalt with painted asphalt.

  • Changed optimizations/error checking again to account for edge cases of using items on other blocks that normally don't support direct interaction

Thingamajigs 1.7.3 Patch 2 is here.

It is a fairly small bugfix update.

Changes:

  • Cleaned up some code to make it more optimized
  • Removed Road Sign's Creative Tab Registry to remove gap when addons are installed
  • Changed versioning a slight bit, and confirmed to work on multiple addon versions (e.g. TGoodies v0.0.2-v0.0.3 are different, yet an older versioned base mod works with both)

This version should work with 1.21.1 and 1.21.

  • Updated a computer to the latest update for it's OS for the current time being (retexture)
  • Removed many if not all old assets/models/etc,etc. for Thingamajigs content that isn't in the mod

Beta Time! 1.7.3. Requires NeoForge 21.0.143+ to function. Tested on servers and clients, and appears to be stable and working.

You may use this version in modpacks as all recipes, loot tables and tags are implemented now.

Additions and Improvements:

  • Survival Friendly once more (all the goodies you need to craft and obtain the blocks are ready to go, have fun!)

  • Fake Fluid Pump for OPs and map-makers only (pumps lava for free to TOP face of block if surround below and around by lava, and somewhat fast too, no internal tank nor supports tank code, and cannot carry fluids when broken)

  • Some changes to existing recipes were made, making more sense instead of spamming item output at you (you don't need 16 blocks from one block)

Changes and Removals:

  • Removed some unused tags that aren't going to be used in the main mod

  • C tag has been verified to work, and is now live for usage. Use c:rubber and c:tree_resin in other mods when possible

  • Say bye to some old features as they are not coming back (their code was removed from the legacy neoforge thingamajigs codebase permanently, no longer unused, freeing up some space for new features), such as some misc. blocks that don't fit in the mod or any of it's planned addons...

  • Some code changed to allow addons (only thingamajigs addons for now) to easily access some classes to extend or change existing features

  • Working on some kind of documentation for Thingamajigs Neo as a lot of optional libraries have been cancelled as of late.

  • Fixed some minor bugs

This update contains some bug fixes, changes, and new features!

Additions and improvements:

  • British Railway Crossing lights (starts on amber, then changes to alternating red lights until redstone power is turned off, compatible with vertical redstone poles)

  • Dual and Singular red and white Railway Lights (always flashes white slowly, then flashes red/alternates red when on, compatible with vertical redstone poles)

  • Escalators (up and down variants, in all directions; smoothly moves player in the direction it is visually moving in)

  • Air duct vent (shows air particles coming out the bottom)

  • Darkened Stone Bricks and variants

  • Reinforced Glass (an old block from an old tech mod re-imagined)

  • and some other minor things

QoL update for those wishing the stonecutter wasn't cluttered. Here you go! Plus new content!

Tested with Forge: 1.20.1-47.2.6

Additions:

  • Components (use these to craft various 'categories' and 'subcategories' of blocks; you'll start with some basics in a smithing table, then move to the stonecutter and get into subcategories, then the decorations themselves will be craftable, some of which are made using traditional ingredients in a crafting table).

  • Balloon Blocks (bouncy, and can pop if anything sharp hits it, useful underwater too if put in the offhand and popped with a sword!)

  • Thingamajig State Block (turns on and off and saves it's state if no redstone signal exists, plus outputs a signal to comparators, and is lockable by key!)

  • The fridge can now store and save items to your worlds, just like chests!

  • Microwaves can now be CRAFTED. yep, that's it!

Changes and Improvements:

  • All recipes reconfigured and recreated to use new items and ingredients (some of which can be unlocked with an ingredient in the inventory)

  • Some containers got a cleanup to function faster and better

  • Some block models now have emissive textures

  • Cleaned up some useless code and removed unused params from unused block classes

  • Fixed some oddities with some older blocks and features

  • Purifying Water and Sludge Buckets shouldn't ever crash in Ad Astra dimensions anymore, instead, they won't place there nor work.

  • Create support for endless netherrack generation, using the Converter block.

  • Maybe fixed poop from being a smelly feature?

  • gave sounds to sinks for filling and emptying with water, and if applicable, opening and closing cabinets make sounds too

  • tweaked some minor features, "you won't notice a thing..."

  • entities should have a fail safe now to not spawn for situations if a crash is inevitable (perhaps, may help prevent corruptions that can occur in rare cases, maybe)

  • the placeholder texture actually has a use for once

  • tweaked sitting block things for players

  • other texture and miscellaneous changes...

Note: Because of how some mods change entity behavior and rendering, I cannot support rendering mods, as they will most definitely break my entities. Don't use mods such as Optifine, Rubidium or other similar mods with this mod for this version unless you want to take the risk.

First Official 1.20.1 Version!

  • All signs in the inventory now face towards the front of the GUI (and are easier to see now)

  • All road signs are now in their own creative tab

  • Railroad Crossing Blocks have new functionality allowing them to be controlled by the railroad crossing gate arm (with a new block mentioned above, and with redstone dust or compatible blocks only)

  • Changed internal mappings and changed some textures to make them stand out more or look more polished

  • Some recipes are now made exclusively in the crafting table and others are still made in the stonecutter. Some crafting item recipes are made in the furnace/blast furnace.
